Ride a horse-drawn sleigh

Stepping through the valley at a steady pace.

What would a winter holiday in Lech be without a horse-drawn sleigh ride? Horses wait in the snow in front of the cable car. Steam rises from their nostrils into the cold air, while thick blankets are placed over the seats.

The sled slowly starts to move. The runners glide across solid snow, the horses' harnesses clink softly, the horses snort. The trail leads along the Lech out of the valley, past snow-covered meadows and individual houses.

On the road

Between mountains & rivers.

During the day, the view of the mountains surrounding the valley opens up. The water of the Lech rushes along the way as the sled continues step by step to Zug or Älpele. A cozy stop there is an absolute must — regional delicacies, a hot drink warm hands and heart.

The sleigh ride is particularly atmospheric in the evening — the ride gains peace and idyll. The first lights start to glow in the valley, while the sky becomes clear over the mountains and the first animals sometimes emerge from the shadows on the quiet edge of the forest.

Back in the house, there is a glass from our wine cellar on — perhaps by the fireplace as the winter day slowly comes to an end.
