Cross-country & telemark skiing

The most beautiful Nordic trails in Vorarlberg

homepage

What once began as a means of transportation in the deep snow-covered expanses of Scandinavia has long since become a permanent fixture in winter sports. In Oberlech, Lech and Zürs, there are also well-groomed trails through the quiet winter landscape. Cross-country skiing in Lech is more than training — it is movement in its most original form.

Hardly any other sport activates so many muscle groups at the same time. Arms and legs work in harmony, core and neck muscles are strengthened, and fitness improves noticeably. Instead of a gym, fresh mountain air awaits here — clear, invigorating, powerful.

Back to the origin

Telemark

As an exciting alternative to classic cross-country skiing and at the same time as a connection to alpine skiing, the telemark style is experiencing a quiet renaissance. Used in alpine skiing competitions as early as 1868, it is considered the original form of skiing — elegant, dynamic and steeped in tradition.

The free heel is characteristic: During the curve, the rear ski stays back, the knee sinks towards the ground, the skis remain parallel. A technique that requires patience — and rewards with exceptionally smooth swings.

Experienced guides and the Lech Ski School offer courses on request and teach the art of this special skiing style with passion.
