Ski touring

Ascent & descent

homepage

Long before the first lifts ever moved, the earliest ski tours were already taking place at the end of the 19th century. Today, this tradition has taken on a new appeal. The routes begin right outside the hotel door and lead upwards in quiet lines. Around 200 kilometres of off-piste terrain open out in every direction. Step by step, your weight shifts, your heel lifts from the ski.

The ascent follows the natural contours of the landscape. Traverses across open slopes, a short climb through the forest, then wide views again. The movement remains steady. Beneath the skins, the skis grip into the snow.

At the top, there is a brief pause. A quick adjustment of the binding, the heel is fixed — and the direction changes. The track leads downhill, away from the marked slopes. Snow rises in soft powder as the sun reflects a smile on your face.

Guided tours

Moving together,
step by step.

No one sets out alone here. Tours are planned in advance, often days ahead, with an experienced guide leading the way. At the Arlberg, the terrain extends far beyond the marked routes. The ascent follows quiet slopes and untouched faces, far from the pistes. No track beside another.

Well into spring, the conditions hold. Snow remains grippy at higher altitudes while it has already begun to melt in the valley. A vast landscape for ski touring, unfolding anew with every step. A true paradise. Deeply connected with nature. Fully with yourself.
